    La concepción de los viejismos y la vida digna de los Adultos mayores

    The conception of old age and the dignified life of older adults" is a social problem that is based on social cognitions that generates prejudice, stereotypes and discrimination by younger groups or adults referring negatively to the age group, affecting daily life presented by the older adult. The line of research is exclusion and social integration. The general objective of the study is to analyze the influence of the conception of old age and the dignified life of the elderly in the parish of El Triunfo del Cantón Patate. The research is exploratory, descriptive and correlational, likewise the research methodology is mixed (qualitative - quantitative) for the execution of the qualitative approach, the instrument was created the guide of life stories with eight items, we worked with a non-probabilistic sample by volunteer obtaining 12 older adults who were part of the investigation. In the quantitative approach, an instrument of 21 items was created, for its validation they were carried out through expert judgment and a reliability analysis of Cronbach's Alpha of 0.797. For its consistency, a pilot test was carried out on 20 children of older adults in the San Jorge farmhouse internally. For this approach, the population that was worked on is 40 children of the elderly. It was highlighted that most of the children have a negative conception of old age, leading to old-age perspectives, falling into prejudices, stereotypes and discrimination of the age group, influencing the life that the older adult entails.
