The present investigation project has the objective to analyze the positive relationship between poultry production and improving the local economic development. Its methodology has practical and theoretical components. It includes three levels which are descriptive, correlative and exploratory. The information intends to verify the similarity between each of the study variables and that the creation of employment for poultry production activities is obtained and benefits the economic development, growth, and improvement of the well-being of citizens. It was identified that in the last years there was an employment decrease in the sector of poultry. To understand the causes of this decrease in employment, a survey for people dedicated to the production of poultry was applied and verified various problems like the overpricing of raw materials or soy which forced the producers to close their businesses or stop production because they could not retrieve the investments they made. The survey aims to improve profits, strengthen small businesses by acquiring technology that benefits and at the same time encourages the canton to grow and improve economic development with help from the associations and companies as well as the Canton Municipal decentralized autonomous Government Pelileo.
