Comparación de dos pruebas diagnósticas brucella ab test kit- elisa competitivo de alta sensibilidad para brucelosis bovina en un hato lechero del cantón Cayambe provincia de Pichincha

The objective of this research was to compare the Brucella Ab Test Kit and Competitive ELISA to diagnose the presence of Bovine Brucellosis in the “El Pinar” farm, Cayambe Canton, Pichincha Province. For the execution of the research, blood was collected from 80 Holstein Mestizo female cattle, with an approximate age of 3-4 years of which 10% of the sample had abortions in the last 6 months. The procedure began after milking, while the cows were still in their selected positions, by means of palpation the coccygeal vein was located from which we proceeded to take the blood sample in 5ml vacutainer tubes, for the realization of Brucella AB Test Kit 1 drop of blood was placed in the well of the kit and then 2 drops of diluent, we waited 10 minutes and we can read the results giving 12 positive samples of the 80 total, while to perform Competitive Elisa, the 12 samples that were positive in the previous test and the tubes were refrigerated and sent to the laboratory. The results obtained confirmed that the animals that were positive Brucella Ab Test Kit were also positive for competitive ELISA, when their values were compared were: for real prevalence of Brucella AB Test Kit 3.7%, apparent prevalence of Elisa Competitive 15%, sensitivity and specificity (25%, 100%) respectively for both tests, positive predictive value 0.3 and negative predictive value 0. It is concluded that Brucella AB Test Kit is a fast and reliable diagnostic method.
