Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Derecho, 2021-04) Jaya Aymacaña, Jessica Mabel; Jordán Buenaño, Jeanette ElizabethThis research project with the topic THE VIOLENCE MARITAL AND THE RIGHT TO EQUALITY BETWEEN MEN AND WOMEN, arises through the need of people to comply with the right to equality before society, regulations and authorities in case of any type of conjugal violence exerted by one of the members to the victims, whether they are men or women, this phenomenon is latent in our society, based on a despotic behavior by one of the parties, which occurs between couples who have had or have a intimate relationship causing physical, psychological, sexual or patrimonial damage, causing irreparable consequences for the victims, most of the studies focus on conjugal violence against women, leaving aside the abused man due to a stereotype that society handles where almost always the man is placed as the aggressor and the woman as the victim. The objective is to determine if the legal regulations guarantee the right to equality without any type of discrimination in the event of being victims of violence by their spouse. For which the scientific methodology of bibliographic, documentary and field research was used through surveys and interviews directed to the Lawyers of the Courts and Tribunals of the Republic of Ecuador and the victims of conjugal violence, managing to use the information obtained to verify the hypothesis and thus reach the conclusions of the present research project.
