In the present experimental work were analyzed the effects caused by rubber particles on the physical-mechanical properties in samples of a granular soil when added in different percentages (0- 3- 6- 9 and 12 percent), for which, were used three natural soil samples from different locations (Juan Benigno Vela, Izamba and Montalvo parishes) of the Ambato canton, in the Province of Tungurahua. In-situ dry and wet densities and natural moisture content were initially determined. To examine the alterations experienced by the different soil-rubber mixtures in their consistency (5 per sample), laboratory tests were carried out such as liquid limit (Casagrande Cup) and plastic limit. On the other hand, maximum dry densities and optimum moisture contents (Modified Proctor Test) and the respective CBR values were obtained in 15 specimens, to determine the influence of rubber particles on the density and bearing capacity of the studied soils. Finally, through several comparative graphs, the analysis of the obtained results was performed, individually detailing the behavior of the previously described properties, in order to interpret in this way, the modifications suffered by granular soils when altering them with percentages of rubber and their relationship with the soil in its natural state.
