(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2023-03) Gavilanes Pérez, Susana Daniela; Cañizares Proaño, Byron Genaro
This project is presented because the road infrastructure of the sector between Real Audiencia de Quito Avenue, Bolivariana Avenue, Galo Vela Avenue and Socrates Street has deteriorated with the use and passage of time, and considering that it is an indispensable axis for productive, economic and social development for its inhabitants. In this evaluation, the respective studies were carried out to determine the current state of the road system in the study area. The process began with a visual evaluation and the collection of information in the field, gathering data on the different roads in field cards; with the use of GPS, the geographic location of each existing fault in the evaluated area was determined and identified according to the level of severity. Subsequently, all the information was entered into a database with which the total number of failures was obtained; in the avenues, the PCI pavement condition index study was carried out in order to identify the current state of the city's roads, and a referential budget was generated for the cost of repairing the damage found in the evaluated area. The study will be delivered to the Municipal Government of Ambato to be used for the benefit of the city, as it will be a contribution of the Technical University of Ambato.
