Item La difusión de música alternativa independiente Ecuatoriana y los medios de comunicación radiales en la Ciudad de Latacunga. Caso de estudio: radio municipal Latacunga y stereo Latacunga fm(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Comunicación Social, 2020-07) Garzón Estévez, Fabricio Javier; Guamán Guadalima, Nelly GabrielaThe present investigation analyzes “The diffusion of Ecuadorian independent alternative music and radio media in the city of Latacunga. Case study: Radio Municipal Latacunga and Stereo Latacunga FM”. To obtain the appropriate information, interviews were conducted with the main managers of the radios under study that will be able to know the level of diffusion of alternative music. The stereotypes that have marked society and that are still valid in terms of this type of music and its audiences, create rejections and discrimination for the realization of non-commercial cultural events and even more to disseminate all this type of content by mass media and musicals contents. To deepen the subject, it was informed by research in books, scientific articles, audiovisual archives and analyzing the programming of the two radios put into study in different time slots. In this way it is concluded that the dissemination of this type of music is scarce during radio broadcasts in the established time slots, so audiences prefer to listen to commercial music in larger quantities and choose songs that are fashionable. Within the specific musical genres in the Ecuadorian independent alternative scene we have Indie, Reggae, Hip Hop, Ska, Rock and Metal, which only 3 of the 6 genres identified in the content analysis, and these are transmitted in minimum quantities and the rest have no preference and interest in the hearings.
