Item Situación actual de los centros de comercialización pecuarios en Tungurahua – Ecuador(2021-09) Curay Punina, Carlos Iván; Aviles Esquivel, DianaThis research work´s about with the current situation of livestock businesscenters in the province of Tungurahua. The general objective was to describe the livestock business centers in Tungurahua - Ecuador. An exploratory - descriptive methodology was applied, descriptive frequency statistics were used for data analysis. In this sense, the average age of the actors in the commercial livestock activity corresponds to 37 years and 54.7% are male. Regarding the place of origin, 17.5% corresponds to Ambato; 14.36% to Pelileo; 10.6% to Cevallos, 8.5% to Quero. It is determined that 81.3% of the sample claims to know the livestock marketing centers in the province, while 100% know where to go to sell their animals. 79.2% affirm that it is very beneficial that there are other marketing centers at the province level because they help to boost commercial activity and therefore improve economic income, however, 20.7% assure that they should be strengthened existing ones. The Centro de Mercadeo Agropecuario (CEMEAG) of the Ambato canton is considered the second national fair, for this reason, 32.9% visit it frequently. The spices with the greatest commercial importance are cattle (42.2%) and pigs (19.3%). Regarding the setting of the prices of the species, the factor of time of care stands out with 21%, the type of feeding (19%) and an animal species (19%). During the Covid-19 pandemic, the main purpose of commercialization was 39.8% destined for the production of its derivatives and 33.6% for resale purposes. Eight centers that have the permits required by AGROCALIDAD for their operation during the Covid-19 pandemic were identified and were georeferenced on a map. Likewise, livestock producers increased their sales as of April 2020. On the other hand, the competent authorities seek to contribute to the gradual commercial reactivation.
