Mg.The objective of this research project was to identify the deformations caused by the prolonged use of the espadrille, for which the indigenous people belonging to the community of Calpaqui of the Otavalo canton were taken as a study objective, including those who do not have no type of physical disability, use espadrilles and wish to collaborate; The project was carried out with 40 people who met the said criteria. For data collection, there was an observation form prepared previously, in which the data such as age, sex, weight, height and occupation were recorded, then foot goniometry measurements necessary for this investigation were made. The analysis of the footprint was also carried out by means of the podoscope in order to classify the type of foot they possess as well as observe the digital shape of the foot. In this investigation it was found that the espadrille worn by the natives is still the traditional one type of footwear low minimum. By means of the observations as to its digital form it is presented as Greek or Egyptian, it is understood that due to the use of the espadrille the foot suffers deformations in its normal structure, presenting with greater frequency hallux valgus and calluses, with a low incidence of claw toes and in hammer, in addition to it it was determined that there is a similar frequency in terms of normal foot, normal / valgus and valgus in both feet.
