Evaluación de un lactoreemplazante comercial en la prevención de diarreas en lechones de la unidad de producción porcina-UTA
(2020-09) Casco Villacis, Johanna Gabriela; Aragadvay Yungan, Gonzalo
This research focused on studying the effects of a commercial milk replacer in the prevention of diarrhea in piglets in the Swine Production Unit-UTA for which the fecal pH, the hematological profile and the incidence of diarrhea were evaluated; in the same way, productive indices were determined as: weight gain, food conversion and food consumption. In the investigation, 12 piglets divided into two treatments (T0 and T1) will be used. T1 will be supplied with the milk replacer at a rate of 130 gr diluted in a liter of water; while, T0 is the Witness. The detailed treatments differences in the productive parameters Daily Weight Gain, Food Conversion and Final Weight obtaining superior results in T1 during the post weaning period; In addition, the incidence of diarrhea in T0 was 100% contrary to T1 with 33.3% being the group with the lowest incidence of diarrhea. The measurement of fecal pH of T0 and T1 was found in suitable ranges (pH 6- 8). Despite this differences were found in the treatment, T1 presented a decreased pH in relation to T0 being favored since a more acidic fecal pH improves. the ability to absorb nutrients; while, the results of the hematological profile benefited the piglets of T1 when finding specific differences between treatments in the hematocrit, leukocyte and neutrophil variables, T0 results found close to the minimum reference levels related to immunosuppression due to the effects produced by weaning . The benefit-cost ratio was 1.42 when using the milk replacer considering a profitable project, since a B / C> 1 demonstrates that the benefits outweigh the costs. Concluding that the use of beneficial replacers digestive health in weaned piglets
