The objective of this research project is to analyze the impact of public investment on economic growth in Ecuador during the period from 2000 to 2015. Accordingly, it is intended to describe the behavior of public policy through the analysis of the expenditure and capital incurred by the government of Ecuador of the development of the country's economy. In the present work two econometric models of multiple linear regression are applied. The first one, seeks to explain the behavior of GDP at constant prices as a function of the Gross Formation of Fixed Capital in the public sector and in the private sector, Population Economically active and of national intermediate consumption, while the second linear regression model seeks to explain per capita GDP in terms of the above-mentioned independent variables. The research concludes that a portion of the assets accumulated by both the public and private sectors are the result of economic growth. However, the need for public investment to boost the economy in the country is highlighted.
