    La perspectiva de Trabajo Social comunitario y la protección del ecosistema páramo

    The objective of this research was to determine the effectiveness of Social Community Work in the Páramos Ecosystem. Protection. The methodology used is based on a qualitative approach, through the document’s analysis, records and materials alluding to research, where the main characteristics of the study variables were obtained. In addition, a bibliographic research was developed to theoretically support the research, as well as a qualitative research-action design that allowed obtaining relevant information. For the triangulation of sources used, the documents belonging to the social organizations that contain a formal páramos management plan, as well as other sources of information provided by the governing entities of the Tungurahua province, were analyzed in a total of 17 official documents on the management of páramos. Among the main findings, we can highlight the effectiveness of Social Community Work in the páramos of the province, as well as the main actions carried out to fulfill the objectives set. Likewise, the páramos management plans require an update in specific characteristics, seeking to strengthen and update all the documents. Under this context, and as a response to the detected needs, different actions are proposed that allow the strengthening of the current plans.
