Item Estrategia de la terapia neurocognitiva para mejorar la coordinación visomotora en el adulto mayor(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Centro de Posgrados, 2023-06-29) Caicedo Cobo, Pedro Fernando; Zavala Calahorrano, Alicia MarifernandaEcuador considers a person who has fulfilled their capacities or is over 65 years of age to be an older adult or third age. In this process, as the person ages, there is a progressive loss or degeneration of physical and motor skills. One of the most affected capacities is visuomotor coordination, which is in charge of linking vision with body movements or, as it could also be called, the execution of a movement in front of the visual stimulus. That is why it is convenient to carry out this project for this age group since between 20 and 30% of older adults who suffer falls presenting moderate or serious injuries, hence the importance of the application of this project since spending to achieve an adequate visuomotor control of the elderly, and through this prevent falls, improve executive functions and give independence in the activities of daily living of this age group. The participants were evaluated before and after the intervention of the neurocognitive therapy program, they were worked with two days a week for a period of 40 minutes in each session, The exercises focus on the executive functions of the participants starting from less to a higher degree of difficulty. From this work it is concluded that neurocognitive training is beneficial in this age group, a conclusion reached with the difference of the final evaluation compared to the initial one in which an improvement in the general average score of the group of 10 can be observed. points compared to the first evaluation, the data was processed through the SPSS system for statistical analysis and older adults were evaluated with the Barthel index, which measures independence or dependence in activities of daily living.Item Incidencia de esguince de tobillo en corredores de trarunning del club Tungurahua adventure team(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Terapia Física, 2020-08-01) Caicedo Cobo, Pedro Fernando; Cárdenas Medina, Jorge HumbertoThe present research focuses on determining the incidence of ankle sprain is trail running runners of the Tungurahua Adventure Team club, considering that this is a relatively new sport and that it is having a great growth in recent years and that it is a sport that has a great variety of competition modalities as well as many types of terrain and surfaces on which this practice takes place. Within the sample population that was taken for this study there are a number of 60 athletes of which 34 of them meet the eligibility model there, applying a calculation estimate formula a final sample of 23 respondents remained. Once the surveys that were carried out during three weeks were carried out, it is visualized that the sprain is very present in the practice of trail running since 14 people 9 of them presented an ankle sprain, of this number 14 people suffered it once, 5 people suffered it more than once and only four did not suffer it. It should be noted that the 1st degree sprain is the one that occurs most 12 times within the population, 5 times the second degree sprain and 2 times the grade 3 sprain.
