    Diagnóstico Normativo Y Propuesta Técnica De Adecuación De La Infraestructura De Residuos Sólidos En El Campus Huachi De La Universidad Técnica De Ambato

    The present study aimed to diagnose and propose a technical adaptation of the solid waste infrastructure at the Campus Huachi of the Universidad Técnica Ambato. The research adopted an applied, descriptive, and evaluative approach with a mixed methodology, organized into three phases: baseline data collection, diagnosis of regulatory compliance, and structuring of the adaptation proposal. The results showed a weekly generation of 586.47 kg of waste, with a per capita production of 0.0114 kg/person/day, and a composition in which 40% corresponds to recoverable materials, representing significant potential for recovery and recycling programs. The regulatory diagnosis revealed a critical compliance level of 18.18%, with gaps concentrated in source separation, temporary storage, labeling, and the absence of systematized records. In response to these gaps, the technical adaptation proposal includes the standardization of five operational processes: system planning and control, source separation using standardized containers, waste reduction and recovery, internal collection with weighing and technical records, and classified temporary storage with external delivery. Each process was supported by the national regulatory framework and indicators from the UI GreenMetric standard. In conclusion, the proposal establishes a solid technical foundation for progressing toward comprehensive, organized, and verifiable solid waste management, aligned with national regulations and international standards for university sustainability.
