Resumen : The present research deals with the effect of garlic in the treatment of Saprolegniasis in rainbow trout, in this sense, the general objective was: to evaluate the effect of garlic (Allium sativum) in the treatment of saprolegniasis in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) of the El Porvenir Fish Farm Complex". Descriptive frequency statistics were applied to evaluate the time required for the fresh garlic macerate. We worked with juvenile fish distributed in 10 per pond, in a total of 15 ponds, 150 specimens (fish of 10 to 15 cm. in length, with an average weight of 150 to 200 grams); there was a positive control with symptoms of saprogneliasis and a negative control in perfect health conditions. Once the extracts were prepared, we worked with the established samples and the main results were: the presence of fungal structures with the appearance of cotton specks, starting from the appearance of this sign in T1 with 11 affected trout, T2 with 13 affected trout, and T3 with 15 affected trout, and the reduction and complete absence of the sign was analyzed throughout the treatment based on the fresh garlic macerate, we have for T1 a frequency of 22, representing 24%, for T2 a frequency of 35 which represents 39% and for T3 a frequency of 33 which represents 37%, obtaining better results with treatment 2 based on 500 mg. of fresh garlic macerate. Skin depigmentation is another sign of the presence of Saprolegnia in trout. This sign was present in all the trout under study and analyzing its reduction and absence throughout the treatment with fresh garlic macerate, the results obtained for T1 were 59, representing 33.5%, for T2 a frequency of 59, representing 33.5% and for T3 a frequency of 58, representing 32.9%, concluding that the three treatments showed efficacy since there is no significant percentage difference that shows the contrary. It is concluded that the analysis of Saprolegnia spp Saprogneliasis determined that treatment number 2 (500 mg./L of pond water) for the inclusion of fresh garlic macerate (Allium sativum) is adequate for the control of macroscopic lesions of Saprolegnia spp in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss).
