Caracterización de la curva de consumo diario de la red agua potable del sector Atocha – Ficoa del cantón Ambato

Abstract

For the Empresa Municipal de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado de Ambato it is important to know the way in which the users demand the potable water for the decisión making in the integral management and its rational use. For this reason, this study aims to characterize the consumption habits of the population of the Atocha – Ficoa urban parish of the Ambato canton, identifying the volumes of potable wáter demanded by the properties, per-capita consumption of the population, typical weekly behavior and schedules of greater use. To carry out the following investigation, it was essential to collect field data, whose activity consisted of recordinf the daily readings of the micrometers of the simple during a period of approximately sixty days at the same time. At the same time, the behaviour of consumers in the use of the potable wáter service during twenty-four hours during a week was evaluated. In addition, users provided data on their properties to know the volumen of wáter consumed and the number of inhabitants per property in order to determine the per-capita consumption characteristic of this parish. Additionally, a record is provided of the pressures with which drinking wáter is supplied throughtout the area. For an adequate management of the information and to facilitate the interpretation of the results, tables and graphs were drawn up that reflect the behavior of consumers in the sector for its subsequent georeferencing in the map of the parish.
