Resumen : The purpose of this research is born from the debate that has generated worldwide assisted death, which consists of ending the pain and suffering of a patient who has been diagnosed with a degenerative and irreversible disease, however, we must keep in mind that This practice is not well seen from the moral and religious point of view, arguing that only God is the one who has the life of a human being. On the other hand, the objective is to determine how the right to a decent life is related to assisted death, that is to say, based on theoretical, scientific and legal arguments, to conclude whether this practice guarantees that the right to life is respected. Has an individual living in optimal conditions without pain or other type of problem. The methodology used is the collection of bibliographic data, as well as interviews with health professionals, to determine the feasibility of applying this procedure in the country and thus reduce the suffering of terminal patients. As conclusions, it was possible to determine that assisted death is not legalized in most countries, however, nations like Holland, Belgium, among others, have seen this alternative as an opportunity to reduce the physical, psychological and emotional damages that a disease Entails a patient and his family. Finally, based on the interviews conducted, it was observed that the doctors are aware of what is involved and how an assisted death is executed, however, they can not carry it out because the laws of the country do not allow it.
Descripción : El propósito de esta investigación nace por el debate que ha generado a nivel mundial la muerte asistida, que consiste en terminar con el dolor y sufrimiento de un paciente que ha sido diagnosticado con una enfermedad degenerativa e irreversible, sin embargo, hay que tener presente que esta práctica no es bien vista desde el punto de vista moral y religioso, argumentando que solo Dios es quien dispone de la vida de un ser humano. Por otra parte, el objetivo que se busca alcanzar es determinar cómo se relaciona el derecho a la vida digna con la muerte asistida, es decir, en base a argumentos teóricos, científicos y legales, concluir si esta práctica garantiza que se respete el derecho que tiene un individuo a vivir en condiciones óptimas sin dolor u otro tipo de problema. La metodología empleada consiste en la recopilación de datos bibliográficos, así como también, entrevistas a profesionales de la salud, para determinar la viabilidad de que en el país se aplique este procedimiento y así reducir el sufrimiento de pacientes terminales. Como conclusiones, se pudo determinar que la muerte asistida no está legalizada en la mayoría de países, sin embargo, naciones como Holanda, Bélgica, entre otras, han visto esta alternativa como una oportunidad de reducir los daños físicos, psicológicos y emocionales que una enfermedad conlleva a un paciente y su familia. Finalmente, en base a las entrevistas realizadas se observó que los médicos están conscientes de que se trata y como se ejecuta una muerte asistida, no obstante, no pueden llevarla a cabo porque las leyes del país no lo permiten.
