Familias reconstituidas y violencia de género en los hogares del Barrio Huachi San Francisco del Cantón Ambato

Abstract

The approach and investigation of the reconstituted families, but above all of the gender violence, provokes still great debate in the Social Sciences. The opinions are divided, some will affirm that it should be considered as a public problem, however, these reductionisms allow us to understand about the production and reproduction of violence. Currently, there have been a series of social changes that have led to the emergence of new forms of family, including the reconstituted family. This is defined as that composed of two adults who form a new family nucleus, in which one of the members, or both, brings children from a previous relationship. Considering the data provided by the National Institute of Statistics, in Spain there are 232,863 reconstituted families, representing 3.6% of couples with children.
