Diseño de una estructura de montaje para puentes atirantados de losa de concreto sobre vigas de acero

Cable-stayed bridges are a highly effective solution for overcoming largespan geographical features. In Ecuador, the implementation of this type of bridge is relatively new, and the construction of these bridges has provided many valuable experiences for those involved in their construction. This paper describes the analysis of a construction method for the superstructure of a cable-stayed concrete slab bridge on steel beams and the design of an assembly structure that facilitates the execution of this type of bridge regardless of the type of accident the bridge must overcome. It compiles information from documented experiences in similar projects and extracts its main ideas, which will serve as the basis for the design of
the assembly structure proposed in this thesis.
The result is a structure with adequate member design, with the most stressed member operating at 90% of its capacity under the most critical operating condition. This concludes that the structure is safe for the operation for which it was designed and can be built in Ecuador.

The main objective of this research project is to evaluate the relationship between
tourism promotion and rural customs in the canton of Quero, recognizing them as key
elements for strengthening cultural identity and boosting local tourism development.
The research is relevant in that it highlights the canton's traditional customs as resources
that, when properly promoted, can generate economic, social, and cultural benefits. The
methodology applied was based on a qualitative, inductive, and descriptive approach. A
non-experimental, cross-sectional design was used, with an interpretive scope based on
the experience of local actors. To collect information, a non-probabilistic convenience
sample was selected, applying interviews with key informants and inventory files from
the National Institute of Cultural Heritage (INPC). Among the results related to tourism
promotion, strengths such as participation in fairs, a consolidated graphic identity, and
the authenticity of messages were identified; however, weaknesses such as poor digital
planning, low institutional coordination, and limited sustainable actions were also
evident. In terms of rural customs, representative manifestations were identified that
could be integrated into the tourism offer in a structured manner. Finally, as a proposal,
a digital magazine based on these customs was designed in order to revalue the canton's
intangible heritage and project it as a culturally attractive destination. It is concluded
that it is necessary to articulate tourism promotion with cultural practices from a
strategic, participatory, and sustainable perspective, incorporating new technologies and
strengthening territorial identity as a differentiating element from other destinations.

The present investigation refers to homework in the area of Mathematics with seventh
grade students of General Basic Education of the Providencia Educational Unit, in the
city of Ambato. Its importance not only responds to current challenges but also
promotes a transformation in the way of planning and applying homework, proposing
it as a key strategy to revolutionize pedagogical practices and respond effectively to
the demands of learning in the 21st century. The scientific contribution focuses on the
integral analysis of homework quality, its influence on the development of teachinglearning and student perception. The general objective was to evaluate school
homework in the area of Mathematics in students. The research is framed in the line
of Social and Educational Behavior, with a mixed approach methodology, nonexperimental design and cross-sectional, applying bibliographic, documentary and
field modalities. The sample was composed of 22 students of parallel “A”. The
instruments used were the checklist, surveys and grades, processed with SPSS
software. The results showed that most of the tasks met the curricular criteria, and that
the students reached or exceeded the expected learning levels. In addition, they
expressed a positive perception of the tasks, recognizing them as a useful
reinforcement strategy to better understand the contents addressed in class. It is
concluded that proper planning has a positive impact on performance and attitude
towards the subject.

La micro planificación curricular en el aprendizaje de Estudios Sociales del subnivel de Educación General Básica Elemental de la Unidad Educativa Juan León Mera "La Salle" de la ciudad de Ambato

Micro-curricular planning is a fundamental tool in the educational process, as it allows teaching
to be organized and adapted to the specific needs of students, ensuring meaningful learning. In
the context of Social Studies at the Elementary General Basic Education sublevel, this planning
takes on special relevance as it fosters critical and civic skills from an early age. This research,
conducted at the Juan León Mera "La Salle" Educational Unit in Ambato, aimed to analyze the
impact of micro-curricular planning on Social Studies learning, highlighting its importance in
current teaching practice. This research adopted a mixed approach, combining qualitative and
quantitative methods through interviews with teachers and observations of 79 students. The
results showed that micro-planning, when applied in a structured and flexible manner,
significantly improves active participation, content comprehension, and the development of
social skills in students. Furthermore, strategies such as gamification, collaborative work, and
formative assessment were identified as key to achieving meaningful learning. This research
contributes to the line of educational and didactic innovation in the Social Sciences,
highlighting the need to adapt pedagogical practices to current contexts. The conclusions
highlight that detailed and contextualized planning not only optimizes the teaching-learning
process but also promotes an inclusive and motivating environment. It is recommended to
continue strengthening teacher training in active methodologies and fostering spaces for
collaborative reflection to enrich educational practice.
Análisis de los desplazamientos de los apoyos superiores de las torres durante la simulación de las fases de construcción de un puente colgante sobre el río Jatun Yacu

This research addresses a topic rarely explored in technical literature: the analysis of the behavior of upper tower supports in suspension bridges, both during the construction process and in their service life. This lack of practical information motivated the development of a study based on a real-world project, aiming to simulate near-reality conditions and obtain reliable data on the displacements generated by the weight of the structural elements. To address this problem, an applied research was conducted using a real suspension bridge project. The main objective was the development of a threedimensional model using specialized software, which allowed for the simulation of various construction phases of the superstructure, as well as the application of a hypothetical and random load convoy to evaluate in-service behavior. The analysis allowed for the observation of stresses in the main cable and the resulting displacements, identifying that the sum of movements generated during construction and by vehicular load exceeded the available travel in the upper supports. Given this situation, it was necessary to iteratively apply a pre-stress to the main cable in the lateral zones of the bridge to correct the structural behavior. Finally, after adjusting the initial cable deformation as pre-stress, it was validated that the displacements during the construction and operation phases remained within acceptable limits, ensuring the correct functioning of the upper supports and the overall suspension bridge structural system
El uso de herramientas de inteligencia artificial generativa en la enseñanza de las ciencias naturales en educación general básica media en la Unidad Educativa Isabela Católica en la ciudad de Píllaro

Currently, education has been forced to adapt and stay at the forefront of technological
development, which is growing rapidly every day. Therefore, it is important that
educational institutions incorporate technological tools and resources into their
academic planning and encourage the training of teachers and students in the use of
these educational technologies. Therefore, the main objective of this research is to
identify the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence tools that allow the teaching of
Natural Sciences in General Basic Secondary Education. Its methodological approach
was qualitative and quantitative, descriptive and ethnographic, where two instruments
were applied: a survey to 60 students from the educational institution where the
research was carried out and a structured interview with 3 teachers in the area of
Natural Sciences. The result is that this technology in current education is essential in
educational centers, since, if the technological infrastructure is not improved, both
teachers and students will continue to face difficulties in accessing AI tools.
Concluding that the IAG is of great benefit to both the educated and the teachers, in
terms of improving their academic performance, increasing the motivation to want to
continue acquiring knowledge, transforming the teaching process from a traditional
way to an innovative, updated, technological one, adapted to the needs of the students.
Educaplay en el desarrollo de las habilidades lógico-matemáticas en los estudiantes de quinto grado de Educación General Básica, de la Unidad Educativa “Fray Bartolomé de las Casas”, Parroquia Salasaka

The present research refers to the impact of the Educaplay platform in the progress of the
logical-mathematical skills of 28 students of fifth grade of EGB of the Educational Unit “Fray
Bartolomé de las Casas”, Salasaka Parish. With a pre-experimental pretest-posttest design,
mixed approach (qualitative and quantitative), bibliographic field modality. The research levels
were exploratory and descriptive. Interactive activities were designed (Froggy jumps, test,
video quiz, memory) adjusted to the curriculum of logical reasoning, elementary operations and
numerical sequences. The main objective was to design activities in Educaplay that are used to
develop logical-mathematical skills in students. The results reveal increases in grades from 3.61
(pretest) to 8.18 (posttest) with a t-value = 39.686; p = 0.000, and 68% of students at high levels
of academic achievement (A+ and A-). This change represents significant progress in the
accuracy of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division calculations. This contributes to
the strengthening of the students' logical-mathematical skills in solving mathematical problems.
It was concluded that Educaplay, by offering immediate feedback and adapting to visual,
auditory and kinesthetic learning styles, represents an inclusive and effective pedagogical tactic
to enhance logical-mathematical skills in the educational environment.

This research project addresses the characteristics of laboratory practices and meaningful
learning among tenth-grade students of General Basic Education in the subject of Natural
Sciences at the Juan León Mera “La Salle” Educational Unit, located in the city of Ambato.
The study responds to the need to strengthen pedagogical strategies that foster active
participation in order to promote a deeper understanding of scientific content. A quantitativequalitative methodological approach was applied, under a non-experimental, cross-sectional
descriptive design, using techniques such as surveys, interviews, observation, and descriptive
statistical analysis. The findings reveal that although laboratory practices are adequately
planned and students show interest, their implementation is sporadic and lacks sufficient
opportunities for reflection and autonomous inquiry. Based on the analysis carried out, it is
concluded that there is a solid theoretical foundation regarding the pedagogical value of
experimental practices in the meaningful construction of knowledge. Furthermore, while
students achieve the expected learning outcomes, very few attain a deep mastery of the content.
Therefore, the need to implement laboratory practices in a systematic way is emphasized in
order to enhance the quality of learning in Natural Sciences.
Los mapas cognitivos en la enseñanza de la Historia del Ecuador en los estudiantes de cuarto grado de Educación General Básica de la Unidad Educativa “Jerusalén” del cantón Ambato

The present research aimed to analyze the relationship between cognitive maps and the teaching
of Ecuadorian history among fourth-grade students of basic general education at the
"Jerusalem" Educational Unit in the canton of Ambato. The methodology adopted a mixedmethod approach, allowing for the integration of quantitative and qualitative data to achieve a
more complete understanding. The study combined three methodological modalities: the
bibliographic approach, which provided theoretical support for the use of cognitive maps; the
documentary approach, which facilitated the analysis of institutional documents; and the field
approach, which allowed for the collection of data directly from the educational setting. The
level of research was descriptive, allowing for the characterization of how cognitive maps are
used in teachers' pedagogical practices and how students perceive them. The research
population consisted of 25 fourth-grade students from the aforementioned educational unit. The
techniques employed were a survey and an interview; the instrument used was a 12-item
questionnaire for students and an interview guide for teachers. The results showed a high level
of appreciation for cognitive maps, as they were described as an easy-to-use tool for a variety
of topics. In conclusion, they promote critical thinking and the ability to synthesize information,
making them an effective strategy for facilitating learning.
El uso del celular en el proceso de aprendizaje en la asignatura de matemáticas del cuarto nivel de la carrera de educación básica en la Universidad Técnica de Ambato

At present, the cell phone has become a very present tool in everyday life, and its use in the
educational field has become increasingly important, especially in higher education. The
purpose of this work is to analyze how the use of cell phones contributes to the learning process
in the subject of Mathematics, specifically in students of the fourth level of Basic Education at
the Technical University of Ambato. To carry out the research, a mixed approach was used,
combining both qualitative and quantitative, with a pre-experimental design. In addition, a
survey was applied to 41 students, an interview with a mathematics teacher and a pretest and
posttest to measure academic performance before and after the didactic intervention with the
use of the cell phone. These instruments made it possible to collect real information from the
classroom, which gave greater validity to the results obtained. Among the main findings, it was
evidenced that students who use the cell phone properly and with teacher guidance achieve
better results in Mathematics. Responsible use of the device favors comprehension, motivation
and participation in class. On the contrary, when used without a clear purpose, the benefits are
limited. In conclusion, the cell phone, when well integrated into the teaching process, can be a
valuable ally to improve learning and make it more dynamic and meaningful.
La memoria oral y el turismo rural caso de estudio: Terremoto del 5 de agosto de 1949 en la parroquia Santa Rosa, cantón Ambato

Santa Rosa, located in the central zone of Ecuador, south of Ambato, is one of the most
important parishes of the canton for being one of the most productive in the agricultural
area. It is made up of a mestizo and indigenous population, including children, adults
and the elderly, the latter being the most important for the research, by preserving the
memory of an event classified as catastrophic, which hit several areas of the province of
Tungurahua in 1949 and that today is little remembered. For this reason, this titling
project had the purpose of exploring the oral memory and rural tourism with emphasis
on the case of the earthquake of August 5, 1949, in the parish of Santa Rosa, canton
Ambato, a date that has marked the hearts and lives of many people and families in
urban and rural areas. Santa Rosa, being one of the most important for the productive
and agricultural sector of Ambato, has natural and cultural potential for the development
of rural tourism. To develop the research, a qualitative approach was used, using
interviews with older adults who witnessed and heard the earthquake and with tourism
technicians in the canton. As a result, important information was obtained to articulate
the oral memory together with rural tourism, through a proposal for a memory room
where images and narrative fragments are exhibited in the interviews to preserve and
enrich the memory through tourism.
